There is something special that happens when a piece of music sets up an expectation and later subverts it. Films with a high rating on Rotten Tomatoes tend to have a twist in the plot that no one sees coming. That's what makes us want to watch them again and again. We wanted to create a tune that allowed the listener to hear things differently on a second listen.
